Amid Scottie Pippen’s Feud With Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman Enters The Chat

As a Chicago Bulls member during the ‘80s and ‘90s, Scottie Pippen helped take the basketball world by storm. These days, though, he’s been making waves through the landscape in a different way, as he’s been in a somewhat one-sided feud of sorts with former teammate Michael Jordan. Many former Bulls players have replied to these honest comments. Now, another major name from that Chicago team has entered the chat – Dennis Rodman.

Dennis Rodman is a reclusive, eccentric man who rarely speaks out on such topics. However, during a recent Q&A, the hall of fame power forward was asked about the situation. Those who know him are surely aware that he rarely minces words and, here, he provided some honest (and mostly restrained) thoughts when asked if Scottie Pippen and Michael Jordan had a rough relationship, as alleged in the former’s memoir:

The book, I don’t know what to say about that. I was there for four years with them, and never witnessed that. Scottie just wants to be recognized with Michael. Dennis Rodman seemed to have mixed feelings about the conflict between his court partners. He did however mention that he believes the book will be bought by people. Rodman made one thing clear in the discussion (via LifeSpeaks MediaHe was very proud of Scottie Pippen’s influence on basketball and his respect for him.

Scottie was a great guy. Scottie revolutionized that position, which is a great thing, even though Michael Jordan was a good example. The basketball and pop culture icon would go on to mention contemporary players like Ben Simmons and Giannis Antetokounmpo as those who have benefitted from his comrade’s legacy. He’s not the only Bulls player to shower praise on Scottie Pippen, either. Toni Kukoc called him the favorite teammatePippen and the Jordan Brand founder had retired to make way for baseball.

Scottie Pippen is reported to have not spoken with Michael Jordan since then. The Last Dance aired, and there’s been no indication as to whether they’ll bury the hatchet. Perhaps Dennis Rodman could be a peacemaker, given his recent sentiments. It’s not uncommon for strange things to happen, right?
