The Omicron virus is a common cold-like illness that affects most people. It is generally milder than other variants.

A string of positive studies show Omicron is milder than other strains, especially in the vaccinated.

Health officials repeatedly stated that Omicron booster jabs are effective in protecting against covid and give the best chance of surviving the pandemic.

New NHS data shows that there are 6.3 Million people who are six weeks late for their booster.

According to the guidance of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation, people who were positive for the vaccine in December would need to wait 28 days before they could get their booster.

Reminders were sent to more than five million Brits reminding them to call in for boosters.

More than 52.2 million Brits received their first dose of Covid jabs, 48.2million received a second, and 37.1 million received booster jabs.

Ten million Brits were able to get jabbed after the NHS opened the booster dosage to all on December 15th.

According to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), you’re 85% less likely than you were if your booster is given.

England’s top physician said that the coronavirus restrictions are now lifted and it was imperative that everyone get vaccinated.

NHS National Medical Director, Professor Stephen Powis, said: “Everyone would like to see the back of Covid and as things begin to return to normal it is important we don’t lose sight of what will protect you from the virus.

“If you were one of the millions of people who tested positive in December and were unable to get your booster, it is time to come forward for that vital vaccination 28 days on from catching Covid.”

He claimed that six million people are overdue for their booster vaccine by at most six weeks.

“Some people had to wait because they were infected with coronavirus, but it was still vital that everyone get their booster to protect them from reinfection and to reduce the risk of getting long Covid.

“The evidence is clear, vaccination provides the best protection for you and your loved ones against coronavirus, so I urge anyone yet to come forward for their booster – or their first or second dose – to check where their nearest site is online and get protected now”, he added.
