Fleur and James were eliminated after a fierce dance off.

Victoria, a mother-of-three, said that she was proud of her husband’s long journey.

She wrote: “So… that was emotional.

“And there you go…. “And there you go…The Strictly Journey is now over. It was a wonderful journey.

“With a final bow & heartfelt thank you to the audience, a hug full of gratitude to Amy and a smile full of emotion to me. He put down his dancing shoes and said goodbye.

“And I truly couldn’t be prouder.”

Victoria – who is mum to Edward, aged eight, Louis, six, and Hugo three, added: “The boys are overwhelmed… full of pride and smiles (and overjoyed to have their best buddy back in the gang).

“And I’m just amazed by what he’s done. It is insane to be able to dance in such a way while working full-time and raising children.

“Even this weekend– he was whipping up brekkie for the boys, emptying the dishwasher, (cleaning up the puddle of dog wee) before skipping out at 8.30am, ready to do battle with a bee (all whilst I was still blinking into my morning cuppa).

“He’s been a glittery, shimmying machine for over 2 months. And I’m not going to lie. We’re absolutely bloody shattered.

“But what he’s done and what he’s shown the boys it’s possible to do when you put your mind to it – is nothing short of incredible.

“And being there tonight, applauding during standing ovation, and watching you – still smiling through joyful tears, a true professional until the end. You were truly my angel. I was so happy that you were returning home.

“And so that’s that. We’re officially hopping off the Strictly rollercoaster … I’m so grateful for our time on this journey… and so very grateful to Amy, our family and friends – and every single one of you lovely lot for the support.

“To all. From both of us, we are grateful.

“It’s meant the world and to you Mr B… take a bow… you’ve earned it.”

James, who was emotional during his speech of resignation, said: “All that I could do was go out and do my best.

“I am dancing against Fleur East. Although I tried to give my best, she was incredible so I was there anyway.

“I had the best time on the show, I’ve got a friend for life, all I can do is thank the family.”

Host Tess Daly stated: “When you came to us, you had two priorities, one was to have fun and two was to make your boys proud.”

The actor wept and broke down, saying: “Don’t say that Tess.”

Pro dancer Any added: “You came in here to show your boys you can throw yourself into any challenge, you’re the best role model they could ever have, you’re positive, you’re fun, thank you.”

James became so choked up that he had to wipe his eyes as he danced his last dance.
