Central Connecticut men’s basketball coach Donyell Marshall has been suspended for tonight’s exhibition game against Nyack, the school announced Thursday afternoon.
Assistant coach Anthony Anderson was suspended for the game as well. Both coaches are entering their second season at CCSU.
Here is the official statement from the University:
“Central Connecticut State University announces that CCSU Blue Devils Men’s Basketball Head Coach Donyell Marshall and Assistant Coach Anthony Anderson will be unavailable to coach this evening’s exhibition game against Nyack due to a confidential personnel matter currently under investigation by the University. Coaching Central’s team tonight will be Assistant Coach Mike Witcoskie and Anthony Ross. There will be no further comment tonight on this matter.”
According to CCSU Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications Mark McLaughlin, there is no indication as to when more information will be made available.
“Any further information will be made available pending the investigation,” McLaughlin told The Recorder. “There will certainly be nothing else tonight.”
According to the school, players and coaches will not be made available to the media after tonight’s game.
