Week Three NFL Recap

The Los Angeles Rams beat the San Francisco 49ers 41-39. Jared Goff completed 22 of 28 passes for 292 yards and three touchdowns. Todd Gurley rushed the ball 28 times for 113 times and two touchdowns. He also caught the ball five times for 36 yards and a touchdown. Sammy Watkins caught six balls for 106 yards and two touchdowns. The 49ers made a second half surge but it wasn’t enough.

The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Baltimore Ravens 44-7. Blake Bortles completed 20 of 31 passes for four touchdowns. Mercedes Lewis hauled in four passes for 62 yards and three touchdowns. Joe Flacco threw two interceptions and for only 28 yards in the third quarter, when he was benched for Ryan Mallet. Mallet scored one touchdown but there was no coming back from the deficit.

The Buffalo Bills beat the Denver Broncos 26-16. Tyrod Taylor completed 20 of 26 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. Trevor Siemian struggled after having a great game last week against the Cowboys. He completed just 24 of 40 passes and threw a pair of interceptions.

The Chicago Bears beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 23-17 in overtime. Matt Glennon completed 15 of 22 passes for 101 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Jordan Howard had a wonderful day running the ball. He rushed the ball 23 times for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

The Atlanta Falcons beat the Detroit Lions 30-26. Matt Ryan completed 24 of 35 passes for 294 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. DeVonta Freeman rushed the ball 21 times for 106 yards and a touchdown.

The New England Patriots beat the Houston Texans 36-33. Tom Brady completed 25 of 35 passes for 378 yards and five touchdowns. Brandon Cooks caught five passes for 131 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Chris Hogan also caught four balls for 68 yards and two touchdowns. Game was close at times and Houston played better than expected.

The New York Jets beat the Miami Dolphins 20-6. Josh McCown completed 18 of 23 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown. Robby Anderson caught three passes for 95 yards and a touchdown. Bilal Powell rushed the ball 15 times and a touchdown. The Jets defense forced a pair of turnovers and shut down the run completely.

The Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants 27-24. Carson Wentz completed 21 of 31 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown. Blount and Clement rushed in for a touchdown each. Zach Ertz caught eight balls for 55 yards and a touchdown. He was also stripped at a critical time in the game and Giants and Eagles were tied 24-24 near the end of the game. Jake Elliot, rookie kicker for the Eagles nailed a 61-yard field goal with only 1 second left in the game for a last second win.

The New Orleans Saints beat the Carolina Panthers 34-13. Drew Brees completed 22 of 29 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Michael Thomas hauled in seven passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.

The Tennessee Titans beat the Seattle Seahawks 33-27. Marcus Mariota completed 20 of 32 for 225 yards and two touchdowns. DeMarco Murray rushed 14 times for 115 yards and a touchdown. Rishard Matthews caught six passes for 87 yards and a touchdown.

The Green Bay Packers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 27-24 in overtime. Aaron Rodgers completed 28 of 42 passes for 313 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Jordy Nelson caught six passes for 52 yards and two touchdowns.

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Charges 24-10. Alex Smith completed 16 of 21 passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Kareem Hunt rushed 17 times for 172 yards and a touchdown. Tyreek Hill caught five passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.

The Washington Redskins beat Oakland Raiders 27-10. Kirk Cousins completed 25 of 30 passes for 365 yards and three touchdowns. Chris Thompson caught six passes for 150 yards and a touchdown. Washington’s defense dominated Oakland’s high powered offense.
